Q: Can you recommend caterers?
A: Yes we have a list of caterers that have come highly recommended from previous guests and are familiar with the castle and cater for weddings there on a regular basis.
Q: What is the maximum amount of people the Banquet hall can hold?
A: 120 guests seated
Q: Can I get married and have the ceremony in the castle?
A: Yes the law has now been changed in Ireland to allow civil ceremonies to be carried out at various venues with Cloghan Castle being one of them, for more information please go to www.groireland.ie. Alternatively you can have a spiritual blessing at the castle, for more information please contact us.
Q: Is there a licenced bar in the castle?
A: We do not have a licenced bar in the castle, however, there is a local barman who will transfer his licence to the castle. Alternatively you can bring your own alcohol and have it served to your guests
Q: Do you charge corkage for wine?
A: Good news is that there is no corkage on wine
Q: How many bedrooms are in the castle and how many people can they accommodate?
A: There are 7 double bedrooms which can accommodate up to 14 guests
Q: Is it difficult to organise a wedding in the castle?
A: It is not difficult at all, we have a very detailed brochure/information pack with all the numbers of service providers needed to organise a wedding, so really it’s a matter of making some phone calls.
Q: Is all the equipment provided?
A: We provide tables (tressil and round) and chairs, crockery, cutlery and glasses and the kitchen is fully equipped to cater for 120 guests.
Q: Do you provide table linen and candles?
A: We do not provide table linen or candles, your caterer can organise this for you or alternatively please see links page or our brochure for details of where you can hire them
Q: Do you provide bed linen and towels?
A: The beds are made up with fresh linen prior to your arrival and we provide towels, shampoo and shower gel for our guests.
Q: Is there any extra accommodation in the area?
A: Yes, there are a number of local B&B’s and hotels that are quite close by. Please see links page for details
